Close to 25,000 Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the region, generating powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Locals observed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced energy failures after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received over five hundred requests for assistance across the region, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Wyndham - over 175 calls for assistance
At one point on the previous day, more than 28k energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued storm activity expected across multiple regions of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
