It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.
